Opening up your brain to true non-judgement

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

My family moved around a lot when I was younger, so my sister and I were very fortunate to be exposed to a lot of different cultures and way of thinking, helping us to open our minds and broaden our perspective. During the process, we also encountered many bourgeois, suburban people who like to live in totally conformity and looked negatively upon anyone or anything that didn’t fit. My sister and I often felt victim to such thinking, and we came to detest such judgement.

But one day, in conversation with my sister, I came to realize…we’re doing the same thing they are — by judging judgement!

Although the thought repeatedly nagged me in the back of my head, I had no idea what this meant for myself or what I need to do — until I started my Dahn Yoga practice.

Through many different BEST 5 workshops, I was able to expand my brain and consciousness to see what judgement really is for myself. It was just my defense mechanism — a way of rejecting anything that I felt had attacked and hurt me in the past. And through this, I found a very quick way to escape resolving whatever pain I felt inside and simply blaming the situation.

And now I understand that even judgement has a different side of the story too. People who judge certain things in other people have somehow built up preconceptions from certain experiences in the past. And the strongest ones probably come from the most deeply painful experiences. And through understanding this I can much more easily embrace and love judgement too — fully accepting without judging that judgement.

Is BEST 5 good at Alzheimer’s?

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

One of my friends wonders what a good exercise for Alzheimer’s is.  While I read Best 5 book (Ilchi Lee), I could find a good explanation.

”Neuroscientist Marion C. Diamond studies how animal’s brains deteriorate when deprived of mental stimulation. Based on this research, she contends that human brains tend to decline quickly after retirement due to lack of mental stimulation…Essentially, the brain loses its flexibility and quickness because it becomes entrenched in mind-numbing routine.

Developing a flexible brain, which is the goal of the second step of Brain Education, can help you to avoid this pitfall of aging. “

Am I happy now?

From Best 5(Ilchi Lee), there is a good explanation why I need to BEST 5 training although I feel happy now.

”The goal of these programs is not simple happiness in the emotional sense because this kind of happiness is temporary and often dependent on the conditions of your life. Rather, the BEST 5 programs exist to help you achieve atruly satisfying and fulfilling lifestyle by discovering who you really are inside, which brings lasting confidence and joy. “

Support

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Dahn yoga is like my support system. It is kind oflike all people who use it’s support system. Without dahn yoga, itd have been much harder to make great things happen, personally, socially and … worldly? It is the foundation for all the progression!

“Finding Your True Self” Smiles

Monday, September 10th, 2007

There is nothing more gratifying than seeing the smiling face and shining eyes of a person who just took the Finding Your True Self workshop. A person who I recommended to go finally went and when I saw her, she looked incredible. In her eyes, it looked as if she really found something. My heart is singing for her.

Ilchi Lee’s Finding Your True Self Workshop should be a human being requirement. Everyone should take it.

being true self

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

i think this correlates with being who you really are and being true to yourself. I am so happy when I can focus on myself and not pay attention to what others are assuming or thinking… or I guess what I am assuming others are assuming… lol
