Ilchi Lee on Brain Education

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Ilchi Lee has created Brain Education. The process of Brain Education is divided into five steps. As you progress through the twelve lessons, you and your child will move naturally through these five steps. However, perfecting any one of the steps is a lifelong journey, and the skills gained in earlier steps will continue to be utilized in later steps.

Step 5: Brain Mastering

Children now fully understand what it means to have a creative, peaceful, and productive “power brain.” Equipped with a sense that life is meaningful and purposeful, they are able to maintain a calm, centered way of life most of the time. Although total mastery may not be possible in their lifetime, participants can continue to observe and improve their use of the brain to achieve goals and character growth. This step primarily corresponds to this blog.

Step 4: Brain Integrating

At this stage, new connections are formed between hemispheres and diverse areas of the brain. The goal is to fully access all layers and connect both hemispheres of the brain for optimal learning and brain functioning. These abilities are then applied to creative problem solving. This step primarily corresponds to this blog too.

Ilchi Lee on Imagination
From a translation of Ilchi Lee’s book The Power of the BrainOur imaginings seem random, without any specific characteristics and without limit, but, in fact, that is not the way it works. Imagination is as unique as an individual’s own character and as the reality that individual experiences.

Heartbeat

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

Recently I discoverd something very important to me.  That is my heartbeat.  My heartbeats non-stop since I was even a fetus in my mother’s womb.  That means there is a part of me that never quits once I decide to do something.  That is a new level of determination for me to use for my goals in life.  Since Dahn Yoga and Brain Education focuses alot on connecting the mind with the body. I was actually able to listen to my heart beat.  This is a great emptyness meditation by the way.  Afterwards I really felt appreciation for life and everything involved in my life.  Just thought I would share that.

Choice ( Ilchi Lee )

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

Think of the factors involved when you make choices.  Ask yourself are these the appropiate things to consider when making a decision.  Of course it depends on what you value and what your goals are.  The end result will be whatever you decide no matter what it always is and always will be.  It may not be easy to accept that but it is not a bad thing to choose it is just is that a choice.

New living ( Ilchi Lee )

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

Wouldn’t it be interesting to see the world if our value system was all based on loving each other, sharing and taking care of the Earth.  How could you fight with your lover if there is nothing to stimulate that desire.  You could only then live in total and complete joy.

Energy ( Ilchi Lee )

Friday, February 1st, 2008

Scientifically if you really look at matter it is a form of energy.  There is a theory that energy shows up as either light, sound or, vibration.  Some scientist found that the smallest recordable building block of matter is a vibration.  It can change the idea one has about being low on energy.  That really makes it mind over matter then right?

My old back pain

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I used to have an aggravating case of medium level back pain.  I use medium to describe it because it wasn’t too painful to bear but it did make life really uncomfortable at times.  The funny thing is that the way I got over the pain was by developing my abdomend and making my intestines softer.  There was alot of pressure released from my back once my posture got better.  I could sleep better, walk better and sitting was not painful anymore.  Actually my entire body began to improve after my core area became more developed and flexible.  Going to the Dahn Yoga school was a good choice.  I would have never known that I could do something about my condition other than endure what-ever my symptoms are.  Learning this gave me hope and joy that I am not helpless I actually am in charge of everthing in my life.

Nothingness and the Brain

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

My study of my brain has led me to realize that the place of nothingness is in my brain.  I watched my brains response to my actions that I make with my body.  My posture, my voice, my response time, my speed when moving, my gestures, smiling all effect my brain and helps in the process of creating thoughts.  The information I have about the different actions creates the effect those actions have on my brain.  What does this mean?  That my actions themselves are not good or bad it is my information that makes them good or bad.  After realizing this then I wondered: is there any natural actions that my brain responds to without any judgement.  I realized that even since my first day on Earth I was bombarded with information around me that told me what was good and what was bad.  When I laughed my parents laughed.  When I cried they were not happy.  When I smilled they smilled and on and on and on.  The next question that came up was what did my brain think before the external influence.  I asked myself this question and reflected deeply inside for the answer.  The only answer I received was Nothing.  That means that all this time the meditators search to become nothing is not something to become at all.  It is the natural state of everyone.  Realizing this was a huge relief.  I don’t need to gain anything because I already have it inside of me.

Meaning of a peace

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Dr Ilchi Lee frequently talks about  peace in his lectures.  I believe most people like to be in a state of peace.  The methods that Dr. Ilchi Lee suggest involve the physical body, the emotional state and the brain.  This way anyone can experience peace inside their of themselves.  Don’t we usually look outside for peace and just about anything else we want we look outside of ourselves for it.  We are the species that shape our own lives by the choices that we make.  We are not restricted to any enviroment.  We can go and come as we please and if we need help we can ask for it and even get it from someone if they choose.  No other living thing on Earth does that.  That is why we are at the top of the food-chain.  That is also why we need to get it together as a species.  When we get it together.  I am sure the Earth will start to heal itself and we can live in harmony with each other and with nature.

Nature

Monday, December 24th, 2007

To me nature is like a silent grandparent.  Not many people pay attention to it but they always get love from and can always come to it when they need something.  Like a grandparent we should treat it with alot of consideration.  We should make sure it is healty and able to function well.  We should take care of its needs.  It is really in our best interest to become the Earth’s favorite grandchild.  We shouldn’t just receive love we should also give it.
