Where should we begin and with what? If we were to try to change the entire infrastructure at once, stress alone would probably destroy civilization. How can we turn the bus around without an abrupt stop that would throw everything inside the bus into chaos? What has to happen to create a fundamental change?
The Ilchi Lee’s philosophy on Earth must become one of “HonglklnGan and EWhaSaeGue”. In Korean, it means “Universal benefit to all humanity, rightful harmony throughout the world.” It refers to the desire benefit the world, not as a demand, but a choice. The Earth-Human concept is relevant to the paradigm shift that our world requires today. In historical context, it is rediscovery of what it means to be human. It could even be the first recognition ever, of what it means to be human, for no civilization that we know of, has achieved such a momentous shift. It indicates our willingness to accept absolute responsibility for our choices regarding our future. Knowing that the future of the Earth depends us, we have chosen to accept the challenge.
By identifying ourselves as Earth-Humans, a series of changes in our way of life will have to follow. We will need to shift from a non-sustainable to sustainable civilization, from a civilization that worships the material, to a civilization that uses material wisely. From a civilization defined by winning and losing to a civilization desiring completion of the souls of her people.
