Prayer and healing articles discuss prospects for peace

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

Individuals who are looking to make the world a more peaceful place through their actions may benefit from looking to prayer and healing articles. These may eventually point a person toward ancient Korean wisdom, which suggest that peace is achievable when the people of the world work together.

This is the principle behind the Korean term pyung-hwa. This phrase describes peace as a collaborative effort that is attained only when the people of the world put aside their difference and work together to find solutions to common problems.

This philosophy is reflected in the works of author and personal growth expert Ilchi Lee. His Earth Citizen movement is designed around this perspective that peace can be achieved through global collaboration and acceptance.

He says that people's national, religious and cultural identities mainly serve to divide people from one another. This is the source of significant amounts of conflict in the world and a main reason for wars and fighting.

However, when people work to overcome these differences, global peace comes within reach. It may seem like a very grand goal, but these types of changes could reasonably be accomplished within the near future. All that is needed is a fresh commitment from the people of the world to peace.

This may seem like a revolutionary idea, but it has actually been around for many years, as reflected by its presence in the Korean tradition. The fact that people have been thinking about these types of ideas for so long shows that the concepts have some traction and could actually be set in motion.

It may seem like a long shot, but with some determination and motivation, people may be able to create a more peaceful world within this generation.

Ilchi points to the truth

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

In Korean, the term Ilchi has a complex set of connotations and meanings, and understanding their precise usage may help individuals understand the ways in which certain types of teachings can direct their search for fulfillment in life and spiritual growth.

The first part of the term, Il, means “the one,” “the truth” or “the way.” The second part, Chi, means “to point.” Therefore, the world literally means “one who points to the way or truth.” This phrase has a powerful meaning when it comes to certain teachings.

Ilchi Lee adopted it as his first name to tell people that he does not believe he is privy to any secret knowledge. He is not delivering divine revelation. Instead, he is simply here to remind individuals of things that they are likely already well aware of.

His teachings are generally not very complicated. But they involved a focus on life principles that many people forget about during the course of their everyday existence. Things like charity, peace, mental clarity and elimination of stress form the corner stones of Lee’s advice.

It is nothing new for someone to point out the importance of these things. However, people often need reminders.

Yoga could bring spiritual growth while giving birth

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

Women have been trying to ease the pain of giving birth for centuries and while there are now medications available, some prefer to go the natural route.

Actress Jessica Alba is pregnant with her second child and this time she plans to try a different approach to the birthing process. According to OK Magazine, Alba was recently on the Ellen Show to talk about her plans for HypnoBirthing.

While Ellen DeGeneres grilled Alba about the birthing process, asking if it was a form of hypnotism, Alba was quick to shoot it down saying that it's a form of meditation that her husband helps her with.

"He just sort of does a guided meditation," she explained, according to the source. "I'm just concentrating on breathing and staying relaxed because it's when you get tense that makes the whole labor worse and more painful."

Alba is not alone, other women practice meditation during childbirth as a way to calm their anxiety, which is often the root of a lot of pain, according to Parents Connect. Women who are planning to give birth in the near future may want to read Ilchi Lee's meditation books in order to learn the proper technique.

Robbie Williams enhances mind-body-spirit connection with yoga before shows

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

Performers need to be in top shape both mentally and physically in order to give it their all on stage. However, the pressure can sometimes get to those in the spotlight, which is why it may be a good idea to try relaxation techniques such as Ilchi Lee's lessons of Dahn Yoga.

Robbie Williams, the famed UK singer recently admitted that his nerves are getting to him as he embarks on the Take That tour, according to NZCity News. As a way to calm down, Williams has been doing yoga in order to stay positive.

Although it may come as a surprise given what he does for a living, friends close to Williams admits that he suffers from a bad case of stage fright.

"Rob suffers from crippling anxiety and has been worried about the lads' forthcoming concerts," a close friend told the Daily Mirror.

Practicing yoga can be great for anyone who suffers from anxiety, no matter what the cause. The Mayo Clinic reports that Yoga not only works the body but challenges the mind helping people to calm all of the thoughts spinning through their heads.

Knowing one’s source may be key for spiritual growth

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

The Korean term Bohn talks about the importance of knowing one's roots. However, this has less to do with cultural or religious heritage than the innate spiritual link that everyone has to the cosmic source.

Bohn means "origin" or "essence". It talks about the fundamentals that underlie something. When it comes to a person, there is a deep spiritual link that connects a person to everything around them.

This source also burns like a flame within every individual and is the spark that most people refer to as consciousness. This is a person's true nature and informs everything that they think about and do in the course of their days.

Bohn is inescapable. It is always with a person, even when they are not aware of it. Therefore, embracing this source and striving to understand it may play an important role in any quest for spiritual growth.

A person may be able to get in touch with their true inner self through mind-body techniques such as meditation, yoga or t'ai chi. These methods may help bring them closer to a deep understanding of their connection to the world around them.

Tao may hold the secrets to fulfillment

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

There may be many paths that a person can take in their life. The world lays before everyone nearly limitless possibilities. However, there are few that actually lead to spiritual growth and fulfillment and discovering this Tao can have a major impact on an individual's life.

Tao is a concept in Korean culture that refers to "the way." It talks about the path that every person must follow to reach their optimal spiritual growth. While most people may think they know what they want out of life, and therefore assume finding their Tao to be an easy process, it can actually much more challenging than that.

Upon closer examination, it may become clear to a person that they are actually unsure what they are doing with their life. Perhaps they feel happy, but they may not be using their unique skills and opportunities to help advance humanity. This may leave any life feeling empty and hollow.

This is why searching for one's true Tao can be an important process. It can bring greater fulfillment and satisfaction while also benefiting the broader community.

Ki energy is a powerful force

Friday, May 6th, 2011

Ki energy is a force that surrounds and permeates all things in existence. It plays a vital role in the lives of every living thing, and understanding the way that humans interact with this force can be a vital part of pursuing spiritual growth.

Many of Ilchi Lee's teachings involve helping individuals come to terms with Ki energy. These lessons can range from instructing learners in the ways in which the force affects their daily lives currently to helping people understand how they can use energy to enrich their existence.

The concept of Ki energy has been around for centuries and its study has helped countless generations improve their spirituality and become more enlightened. Given the central role that the force plays in total existence, a better understanding of it could lead to spiritual growth and development.

Many people have experience with Ki energy even though they may not realize it. Everyday occurrences that feel special or instill a sense of spirituality could be the result of interactions with Ki energy. Learning more about this could help individuals appreciate these moments even more.

The origin can be the source of personal development

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

In life it is easy to be distracted by things that seem important but in the end turn out to only be side matters. It is in these times that individuals would do well to remember the Korean phrase Han Se Gye.

The term means origin or source. It is used to describe the fundamental elements of something and can just as easily be applied to a person's life. It can remind a person that they need to focus on the core of their being and use this mindfulness to spur a pursuit of personal development.

Individuals tend to fill their lives up with many things, all of which they believe to be important. However, Han Se Gye suggests that it may be easier for people to live fulfilling existence when they eliminate unnecessary connections in their lives and useless information from their brains.

This type of effort may be at the heart of personal development and can help individuals to figure out what really matters in their lives. Rather than devoting attention to hundreds of things, they can focus on the one or two fundamental things that really matter.

Living free of connections can open a heart to love

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Many people base their life around their personal relationships. However, the Korean phrase Gong-Shim suggests that these connections may actually be somewhat counterproductive and prevent an individual from making positive personal change.

The term means empty mind. It refers to a state in which a person has no attachments, leaving them free to pursue fulfillment and, most importantly, public works. When an individual becomes completely free from personal connections, they may be able to put their mind to public service.

This is the most effective path toward personal change and community development. While it may sound like leaving behind all personal connections may be difficult and lonely, it can actually open an individual up to a brand new world of possibilities that they never knew existed.

By eliminating attachments to any one or two people, an individual is able to cultivate love and respect for all of humanity. In this way, incorporating the principles of Gong-Shim into a person's life may help them to feel more fulfilled and enriched. When more people begin living this sort of lifestyle, the world will be a more harmonious place.
